Blog I: A BOOK THAT YOU HAVE LIKED

The topic of this blog is very interesting: the book that I love. Wow, I can speak about a lot of books, but in this oportunity I`m going to speak about “The Perfum, story of a killer”. I love this book because the story is good. If you want to think as me, you have to read the book; and I promise that you will enjoy while Jean-Baptiste kills to make the best perfum of the history (he`s the protagonist of The Perfum). Jean Baptiste have a peculiar caracteristic: he can smell as nobody in the world, but he doesn´t have odor. Patrick Suskind is the brain of this great story.
The first time that I read this book: I was 16 years old!: I was in the school. My teacher recomended us this book because he wanted do a test. Even, we saw the movie, but I thik that read the book is better than watch the movie (It isn´t the same).
The best of the story is Jean-Baptiste, a kid that doesn`t know what is bad, what is good. He only wants make the best perfum of the history, and for this, he kills the women with the best aroma of the city.
The end of the story is sad, but to know it, I recomend you read the book, because it will be boring if I relate it.
Only I want to have the oportunity to comment one more time this topic, becouse I would like to speak about: "Canción para caminar sobre las aguas" (Song to walk on water), other book that I read in the school and I love.

Blog 9: Last Blog!

After seeing all the blogs, I can say the following:

Always I had the same mistake: the structure of the sentence, for example; I forgot to use the word “than” when I made a comparative sentence, I didn’t put the verb in past when the sentence was in past, etc, etc. They were the most typical mistakes.
I learned some new words to use in “my poor American life”, for example, furthermore, treatment, etc; these words were freak for me, I didn’t know the meaning of them.
To be honest, I think this activities were a very useful tool for our course, because are an easy form to learn some of English, with the help of internet, of course. But I have a big complain: we have to travel to the English class, and any times I had to travel from Paine only to assist to the famous blog: I think that perfectly we can make the blog in our house. In my opinion, the teachers should make some corrections in the program.
Always the topics were very interesting, overcoat for our future profession. We wrote about our ideal job, for example. When I read the blogs of my classmates, I feel blog is useful, because we can write about topics that don’t speak in classes, principally because we don’t have any time to it.

BLOG 8: Your Ideal Job.

I would like to work in public sector, principally because always I have liked to help poor people (I tell it because I suppose rich people don’t’ go to public hospitals…. they hate the public system!!!).
Well, I prefer to work in an enjoyable environment, natural and welcoming, but, it’s very difficult to find a place with these characteristics; only I hope don’t find an awful place, with unpleasant people: I don’t like to work with bossy people, for example. I just hope to treat nice people.
I would like to treat needy person, that don’t have resources to pay our service, I will work this problem because I fell responsibility to help them.
I have had some responsibilities, but care a pregnant is the biggest test for me, overcoat because I should care for two lives: mother and fetus: I just hope that everything goes well; I wouldn’t like to lose my job!
About my position in my ideal job, I would like to be “the head”, principally because I know that I can manage takes.
To finish, in my opinion, all my classmates will have their ideal job, because I know they are the best, and they can confront anything.

BLOG 7: GRAMMAR REVIEW

One day, a boy found a strange rock, his name was Tony. He thought that it could be a beautiful present for his grandmother. Next day he visited her. In the street to the house he saw a strange being between the trees. He approached to it, and he discovered an alien! Tony thought that this being was awful and bad, but he was wrong. He looked for the rock; and Tony said him that he had it. Suddenly, they heard a big sound in the wood…… It was the enemy of the alien, “Badman”. Badman wanted the beautiful rock to control the universe. Then, Tony and the friendly alien run. Then, the alien advantage to say his name to Tony: Pichiruchi. They run for a long time, while Badman looked for the rock. Tony didn’t know that Badman killed his grandmother. He was the worst of the worst. Next day, Tony and Pichiruchi went to the house, and they found a letter, it said: I want the rock, if you don’t give me it, I will destroy the world. You don’t know that with this object…….. You can revive people. Now, the problem was that Badman left no trace of the grandmother.

Blog 6: Education and Prevention

The easiest form to educate people is making an intervention program about some topic or problem (It’s the most effective, I think), for example: Health System makes a program for infect people with VIH, (the program is special for them). Generally, the program includes education sessions, separate of their treatments.
An educate program is good when everyone learn something of it. For example, we see that breast cancer decreases when we educate women of some place about causes of it (it’s a simple example). Our intervention is very efficient.
Always Ministry of Health tries to make some for the community, overcoat if it has important problems. We can find a lot of problems, for example: nicotine poisoning, alcoholism, poverty, between others. When the System finds a problem, it should specify what the risk group: women, men, pregnant, the poor, the rich, etc, etc, etc. Later, only we should work! The most effective is educate the population, because isn’t an invading method, and the most important, everyone can learn (it is free).
I like to teach about the important of a healthy diet during the gestation, overcoat for my future users (patients): women, because a good diet is a protective factor for them and their sons.
Chile has a lot of educate programs, for example, “Chile develops with you”. It’s a program for pregnant: we hear about it everyday.

Blog 5: Review about Gender Role in Health Care.

In our career, we have some differences between men and women, the biggest is salary. Salary is a big problem: men have better salary that women, principally, because everyone believe that men are more efficient than women; but it is false. We have a social problem: always we make differences between genders, and in our career we see it everyday. But, the salary isn’t the only difference; we know others, for example: responsibilities, professional development, respect, etc.
Men have few responsibilities, less than women. Working for men is easier. Generally, we can say that men are privileged. For this we should change our form to think: The treatment for women should be the same for men. In professional development: men have more opportunities than women to studying, I believe. But, I can’t prove it, because it’s only an idea. I imagine it, because always men have more opportunities, in all areas.
Other difference is respect: treatment between genders is different. For example: we know working conditions, schedules, etc. and working forced: especially for men, we know that it is different (It’s an advantage for women: perhaps working women is more comfortable).

To finish: our career has a lot of differences, and the majority affects women…… but, always we have known that Midwifery was a career for women; so, what happens? Health system is wrong.

Blog 4: Your Future As Midwife.

Always I think about my future as midwife, and I believe that it will be beautiful: I will work in an area that I love, medicine, and specially, the woman’s care. Ideally, I would like to work in the Public System, because I know that this area needs us. I can work in a near Hospital to my house.

I would like to work Monday at Friday, 8 a.m at 5 p.m, but I know that this is impossible, because the Public System need us always, not for few time. All I am asking is consideration: we are humans, not machines; the most probable is that we will have family: I don’t like to work all the day, and leave them alone.

The important is that working, I will be happy, but….. I would like to study, make a specialization, for example: A postgraduate course. The important is don’t stop to study, continue development.

One year ago, I thought that the career was boring; I didn’t know that the career is great. For a moment I thought that I don’t have future whit this. Now, I can say that I was wrong; I didn’t know the trust, I can help a lot of people.

To finish, I imagine that my future will be great as midwife. Only I should wait.
